Root barrier made of 1mm thick and 64cm high HDPE for bamboos up to 3 meters. For example, for Fargesia, Pleioblastus, Sasa. This product is sold per meter.

You can easily cut it to the desired length or height with a utility knife.

Application
Our root barrier is suitable for curbing the root growth of all spreading (Phyllostachys) and clumping (Fargesia) bamboos in the Dutch climate. We supply two thicknesses: 1mm/64cm for lower bamboos up to 3m (Sasa, Pleioblastus, Fargesia), and 2mm/70cm. 2mm is suitable for medium and tall bamboos of 3m+ (e.g., Phyllostachys, Semiarundinaria fastuosa). Even non-spreading bamboos need root barrier. They grow 25cm per year in diameter, so they'll soon be on the other side of the fence, under the patio, or in the grass.

Root barrier has even more applications:

spreading grasses
plot demarcation on the allotment garden or border against weeds from surrounding gardens or municipal land
demarcation against water extraction and root growth from neighbors' hedges
lining the inside of wooden planters as protection against rot due to contact of water and soil
Instructions for use
You dig a trench with a spade and place the root barrier vertically in the ground. You leave 5 cm sticking out above the ground to stop rhizomes growing above ground. With a connection kit (to be ordered separately), you overlap the ends of the root barrier by 5 cm and screw both plates together with the bolts and nuts.

For a hedge, we recommend a minimum width of 60cm, but less is possible. For a solitary bamboo, we recommend a minimum diameter of 60 cm or a square of 50x50cm.
