Euonymus japonica ´Green Spire´ (Japanese Spindle)

Description

Grows wide and can be easily pruned into shapes.

It is also commonly used for hedges.

Consider it as a replacement for Buxus hedges.

There are many varieties of Japanese spindle available, mostly with white or yellow variegated leaves.

Application

This Japanese spindle is ideally suited for smaller gardens and planters,

perfect to combine with other plants.

In the presence of, for example, Yew, it is possible that the so-called 'Vine Weevil' (grooved snout beetle) will feed on your Japanese spindle. Feeding damage from this can be recognized by semicircular bites out of the edges of the leaves.

Tip!

Bantam chickens are generally known to be excellent clearers of Vine Weevil larvae.
