What is Microneedling?

Micro-needling therapy is a treatment in which practitioners (for example beauticians and/or skin therapists) can make very fine needles in the skin with a special device, such as a dermapen or dermaroller. The goal is to create a controlled damage under the skin surface. The body responds to this by activating the natural recovery process. Our body will receive a trigger through this method to create a new tissue layer of collagen and elastin and also new capillaries, which improves the blood supply in the treated area. This ultimately results in a stronger, smoother, more even skin of color and even thicker again! This method is also called Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT).

Microneedling treatments in combination with dermapen

This dermapen is adjustable in needle depth from 0 mm to 2.5 mm. The following treatments can be performed with a dermapen. The different depths are intended for various treatments in combination with the areas to be treated.

0.2 – 0.3mm needle depth is designed for maximum absorption of skin care products into the skin and for an overall improvement in skin texture and tone.
0.5mm needle depth is designed for wrinkles, acne and chicken pox scars, anti-aging treatments and for thinning hair.
1.0mm needle depth is designed for stretch marks, cellulite and deep scars.
1.5mm needle depth is designed for severe skin conditions such as deep scars, wrinkles and rejuvenation of severely damaged skin.
2.0-2.5mm needle depth is designed for very severe scars and wrinkles.

During the treatment, water or a serum with skin-improving active ingredients (such as Hyaluronic Acid serum) can serve as an intermediate fluid. The micro-channels created in the skin allow for better absorption of the active ingredients.
